Christmas Day

We woke up and headed to sacrament on a sunny Christmas morning. Sacrament was really nice. Full of great talks and music.

After sacrament, we raced home to open our presents. You can grow up, but there's still something exciting about the surprise of opening gifts on Christmas morning.

Buttons was really happy that we had opened up all our gifts to give her more room to sleep under the tree again.

I felt very blessed this year and loved all of the gifts I received. On the plus side, I even surprised Holland with a couple things that he LIKED. This, as some of you know, is a huge accomplishment on my part.

After we opened presents, we cleaned up our wrapping paper messes and started making brunch. We had invited 2 other couples from our ward over who also hadn't gone home for Christmas. We seriously feasted. I wish I would have taken a picture so you could see how much wonderful food we had. On the menu was: breakfast burritos (with chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and cheese), ham and cheese quiche, rosemary potatoes, fresh strawberries and pineapple with dip, sweet rolls, and cupcakes. I don't think I missed anything, but if I did, it's because there was just so much! We filled up on brunch and then spent the next few hours talking and hanging out in the living room.

Perhaps after brunch was over, I took a nap. Because, after all, no Sunday is complete without a Sunday nap.

The rest of the night was spent calling family, watching movies, and playing with our gifts.

Although it was a quiet Christmas without our families, we had a wonderful day. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas as well!
